A Place To Relax And Get Inspired
One afternoon, we enjoyed the warmth of coffee in a cozy coffee shop in South Jakarta.
Not only is the delicious coffee offered, this place also has a unique and comfortable interior, the owner seems to understand that Jakarta residents need the convenience of finding inspiration and chatting with the closest people. Small cars and Vespa motorbikes are also provided as decorations and for taking pictures. Who would have thought, if this coffee shop was owned by a group of businessmen who were very young, and they all turned out to be alumni of Prasetiya Mulya University.
Adapted from the name of the island in NTT where the name has inspiring and relaxing value, the six alumni of Prasetiya Mulya University adapted the name Kanawa Island to their coffee shop business to become KANAWA Coffee & Munch in hopes of becoming a coffee shop that can provide inspiration during weekdays and and a good place to relax at the weekend. And a comfortable and modern interior concept is in line with the vision of KANAWA Coffee & Munch wants to be a Coffee shop that can help customers to inspire productiveness, creativity, and a place to build their connections through coffee as the medium.
One of Kanawa's founders, Farouq Ghazali revealed that the superiority of Kanawa from other coffee shops is the Idea Incubator concept. However, what products are superior to KANAWA are coffee beans that are selected only coffee beans that have a specialty grade. Besides that, KANAWA also has excellent foods, most of which are combinations of western and Indonesian food.
Prices for drinks at Kanawa Coffee & Munch range from Rp. 27,000 to Rp. 42 thousand, and large meals cost Rp. 55 rb to Rp. 98 rb.
Currently, the coffee shop which has 35 employees is visited by an average of 5000 people each month, with the number of weekend visitors higher than from weekdays. In addition to coffee-coffee, visitors can also order Kanawa as a meeting and gathering place, and the Kanawapun also opens coffee-making classes, you know.
According to Farouq, for a year of standing, KANAWA's business development was pretty good, "We are still on track according to our projections, but this does not make us outstanding compared to other competitors" he said.
